What a bizarre morning! I was chatting with Vanessa of A Fanciful Twist about an hour ago and told her I needed to get going and make something. Mind you, I didn't mention anything about what I was thinking of.
Remember a few days ago, I posted a print of a a girl with a mask and that I was looking forward to creating somthing with her? Well, as I was looking at her I felt she had a bit of a "pirate feel", so I knew that was the direction I was going. I pulled out some of my pirate things (I know, I have waaaaaaaaay too much stuff !) this morning to get inspired.
Then I took a trip to Miss Fancy Pants herself and could not believe what I saw! THE most amazing Pirate Ship!
UNBELIEVABLE!!!
What are the chances she and I would post about the same theme, as it were, on the same day. I mean, pirates?
I've had Vanessa listed as one of my favorite artists for a while but truth be told, she's one of my favorite blogging people, too. She's an amazing writer, funny as hell (oh yeah, I swear- the pirate in me).
Anyway, it was just one of those cool moments that happens every once in a while. Serendipity, right? Oh, there I go swearing again!
: )
Hey, how'd that picture get here???

That pirate ship is amazing. Makes me think of the Movie Goonies. Not quite so romantic as Johnny though.
Your friend Vanessa is pretty incredible. What a talented person, but I am sure your dreaming up something grand too for your pirates
treasure, can't wait to see

Haaarrr! I saw Vanessa's ship, too! She is extremely talented and a hoot! As for Mr. Depp's pirate persona - I think that stock in Maybelline must have skyrocketed after the first "Pirates" movie -that eyeliner...swoon! Btw, Donna, I always love the comments on your blog - you DO inspire wild and wacky! Love it!

What a gorgeous man, I mean ship, I mean, oh my goodness, how did this bottle of rum get here, right on my desk top, I mean I LOVE all that pirate synchronicity with Constance stowed away below deck sewing costumes for all of us!!!!

He is delicious :) That ship is fabulous! I'm with you about Vanessa, she's so much fun to talk to and a sweatheart!
Posted by: Beth | September 15, 2007 at 03:51 PM
Somehow I knew when you mentioned pirate it would come back to that hunk! It's bad luck for a woman to be found aboard ship, so you'd have to stow away or disguise yourself as a man. Then some terrible storm unfolds and the ship would sway and you would be thrust into Johnny's arms... to be continued
I do love the ship with all the bling!I wonder if Vanessa was having a similar dream when she created it. Susan
