HOLLYwood!!!! I'm SO excited! This is the first year that there are more than a handful of berries on this holly bush. Isn't it the ultimate Christmas foliage?

A little Thanksgivng food for thought....

A little known Thanksgiving fact. You can actually trace the roots of the holiday beyond the pilgrims.

It began in a sleepy little town called "Tryptophan".

The town mayor, Tom was larger than life and he ruled over the Tryptophanians.

But he was no match for the Queen who had true Tryptophanian lineage. Somewhere along the line though, the Queen was found sleeping on the job and the true history of Turkey Day was lost. There was talk around town that she had hooked up with Mr. Sandman . A scarce fact indeed. We may never know the real truth, but for now...........

Long live the "Queen of Tryptophan" and Happy Thanksgiving to all of you!

"And Speaking of Scottish Dolls......"

It's funny, I never thought of myself as a doll collector. I still don't. Yet I seem to have acquired quite a few over the last few years. I found an antique lass about six or seven years ago dressed in Scottish regalia and I was hooked. Since then I've found a few more and I thought you might enjoy seeing them.

Ha- I noticed there is a little flask next to this lad. Maybe it's filled with Scotch!

One of my favorites. The cap is fur and I love how it's tilted over the one eye. It's glued that way so he's forever peeking. Or is it she - not sure on this one.

I love them all standing together, a 'mixin' of the clans, so to speak. I need to do some research on them, but as I said, I'm not a collector, I just find them so charming.

My real Scottish dolls, my son and daughter. I know, this coming from the the one who isn't cutesy. Remember? Guess what? I heart them!

He was a Scottish author. Many of you know that I'm of Scottish descent (my mom's parents immigrated from Scotland when they were in their twenties)

What's this? Did you know that Johnny Depp portrayed J.M. Barrie in the film, Finding Neverland? This is how he looked in the film. What a doll. And such a great film.

Did you also know that when you can't think of anything clever to put on your blog, blatantly posting a gorgeous photograph of Johnny Depp does the trick?

Ahhh... Neverland. I guess the Lost Boys and I will never grow up. My blog is hopelessly immature.

Working at my 'real job' all week but check out my cool name tag I can wear (created by the instructor, not me-and no, I really don't wear a name tag!)

Ulla and I took a calligraphy class this weekend and we had a blast. She will probably have all the details on her blog later so check here.

I wonder if my CPA will mind if I submit all of the end of the fiscal year info in Spencerian script?
