Oh , love that movie -- Omar sharif 's eyes are wonderful -- the other heartbreak movie is --
"Legends of the Fall " no happy ending here , but what a story , Brad Pitt and Anthony Hopkins -- and Aiden Quinn -- all those eyes really make me swoon

How about "The Way We Were" - or at least I think that's the name of the Barbra Striesand/Robert Redford movie of long ago -

And I can't help it, I adore watching over and over Dirty Dancing -

Mine would have to be Wuthering Heights...........*sigh* That movie just makes my heart ache! I also love Gone with the Wind.

Oh...Dr. Zhivago! What a great movie. My all time favorite though has to be 'Gone With the Wind'. I can watch that movie forever!

I've never seen Dr. Zhivago but after reading your comments on it, I really want to now!

Ahhhh, Moonstruck. The music, the lines, Nick Cage, Cher's dress (for her date at the Met) and food...what's not to love?
Bella Luna.

Dr. Zhivago definitely on the list along with GWTW, Rebecca and The English Patient.

Last night we watched The Wedding Date and loved it!!! How about A Walk In The Clouds?

Wait!!? Are you still playing Doctor?

Hi Donna...love those photos from the Dr. My favorites are Pride and Prejudice, Moulin Rouge and I love the American President with Michael Douglas. Then Moulin Rouge and love the visuals in Marie Antoinette. Another great movie that is unknown is Great Expectations with Gweneth Paltrow and Ethan Hawke. Enjoy!!!

Flea Market Queen

Aw Dr. Zhivago, a classic!
Another movie that I love is "Love Story" with Ryan O'Neal & Ali McGraw...

Hi Donna,
My favorite ROMANTIC movie is Indiana Jones, Raiders of the Lost Ark!!! I watched it last night for the nnnnnth time. No sissy movies in our household, two sons and a husband....a lot of testosterone going on here. However, Karen Allen did wear a pretty white dress until it had to be altered due to her being thrown into the "Well of Souls" with thousands of venomous snakes!!!

Oh yes! Dr. Zhivago was so gorgeous! Movies I love to watch again and again are Jane Eyre (the 1940s version), The Uninvited, To Kill a Mockingbird, Practical Magic, and then any movie where one of the characters is an artist - like the 1990 film, Where the Heart is. Suzy Amos plays a trompe loeil mural artist - ahhh such gorgeous art! Happy New Year Donna!

I love Dr. Zhivago too! I Love "The Long Long Trailer" with Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz! it's not on the same level as The DR. but it is one of my favorties along with another one with the 2 of them in it..which is "Forever Darling! If you get a chance they are both sweet movies!! Smiles, Joy

Hands down favorite....Wuthering
Heights with Laurence Olivier. Coming in second...Camille with Greta Garbo.

Stirs memories doesn't it... I need to watch Dr Zhivago again too... another playdate dear one? My favorite movie ever is 'Enchanted April'... I could watch it a million times and never be bored...

Happy New Year Donna!

I have not seen Dr Zhivago in years and saw it was on TV only after it was an hour in to it. (so I didn't watch)Although I have not seen it recently I have seen Camelot at least 20 times. The music, the settings, the clothes....all of it, always got to me. ( I may have mentioned that here before.) I like period pieces so other movies, although not necessarily sweeping sagas, that I will watch over and over are Howard's End, Sense and Sensibility, Enchanted April(LOVE this movie).....you get the idea.
All good ones for days like we're having....dark and stormy and cozy inside.

Pinkie Denise

Dear Donna,
I haven't seen that movie forever, all I remember is the music Laura's
Theme', I will have to rent it. Seems like I hardly get to sit and watch a whole movie from beginning to end...I love anything romantic, and I love Titanic...I feel like I've been a time warp no power for over a day, it just came on. It was pretty scary trees and fences down everywhere, bracing for the next one........Pinkie Denise

Haven't seen Dr. Zhivago in ages. Will have to indulge myself again very soon!

Thanks for the kind words on my blog. "Eastern Promises" is no Zhivago (about the Russian Mob) but I still found it a great film. A bit "gritty" but gritty and Viggo Mortensen go well together. Ever see A Walk on the Moon? Sigh...

Christine LeFever

I THOUGHT that was the ice room from Dr. Zhivago when I saw it on Ulla's blog! That was my husband's favorite romantic film. I preferred Far From the Madding Crowd, and now I love Pride and Prejudice starring Keira Knightly and the absolutely gorgeous Matthew Macfadyen.

Dear Donna,
Happy 2008!
As a little girl I went to see Dr. Zhivago with my father. I remember it being long because I didn't understand it. I will re watch it with my mom sometime. Thanks for the hot tip. Hope you had a happy Birthday!

ANOTHER movie I haven't seen. Have I been living under a rock??? I love Titantic...

tongue in cheek

Oh Dr Zhivago... My husband sang (or I should say hummed it,) the theme song when I asked him to sing something, anything, while I was giving birth.. I needed a distraction...Dr Zhivago!

Another good movie
The Window of St Pierre.

A french film, but oh so beautiful.

Miss Maddie's

Ahhh you're dreaming again!
It's wonderful when simple things like a movie can stir memories and keep us happy.
Much cheaper than shopping!

I forgot Donna!!
BOnne année 2008 .
May your dreams come true ....

Wonderful moovie ...so timeless and romantic.
it has been a long time since I have seen it ..I'm going to rent the DVD

Oh, I am so glad I am not alone in loving that movie. I especially love when Lara rides off in that horse driven sled in the snow. It is absolutely freezing here in New England and it has been so icy that our Gazebo looks a bit like their ice castle. Thanks for reminding me of this wonderful movie. Karen

i never saw that movie...i will have to rent it...i treated myself last night to a viewing of the four hour wonderfulness that is "Gone With the Wind"...LOVE that movie...like you i always wish for a different ending and i just want to slap Scarlett silly for being in love with that sissy man Ashley Wilkes...that silly girl...

Dorian Fletcher

Wonderful movie...and I thought the exact same thing when I saw Ulla's photos! Zhivago's winter dacha scenes were so lovely. Too many movie favorites to list...To Kill a Mockingbird, Arsenic and Old Lace, Gigi - and Zhivago, of course!

Oh my gosh I LOVE Dr. Zhivago and was watching it the other day to. Maybe we were watching together !!! Clarice

I have two movies that I love because of their visual beauty.
The Scent of Green Papaya, director Tran Ahn Hung, and Kama Sutra director Mira Noir...if you google them and read the NY times review of them you will get a good idea of what they are like.

Hi Donna,
That is a great movie!!
I keep rewatching You've Got Mail and Practical Magic. I love those movies. I have seen them so many times, but I never get tired of watching them.
Have a great weekend!
