Hi Donna. I discovered your work in the recent Victoria article. Your work and your home are so beautiful! And yes, I totally get that fragmented feeling. I do all that I do because I love it all, but sometimes I just need a little quiet. Hope you have found yours. Thanks for sharing your creativity here- it is so inspiring!

Totally right there with you Donna. Life is busy wife, mother, homemaker, taxi driver, caterer, yogini, gardner, friend art..seems to be on the back burner lately. I so want to get there again soon. I love it all though and everything has it's season I guess. I just know how you are feeling right now. ((hugs)) Lisa

Oh Donna......I think the creative gene does that to us!!!! My creative friends all complain about the same thing. Even without a full time job now (after retiring)I still am all over the place with deadlines, family, husband, artwork, grandbabies and friends. Not ever enough time to get all I want to do...IN!!! I love it though:D I'll bet you do to:D

OMG! YOu made me laugh so hard. I love this post. I can so relate. Hopefully, I am one of those other blogger dollheads. :) Such a great post and how we all feel sometimes.

I just found your blog (listed in March/April Victoria magazine) and am glad I did. I can also empathize with feeling pulled in all directions. Congrats on the article, it was lovely.

Nancy ~ Fete et Fleur

Hello Donna!
The doll heads are incredible. I love each and everyone. Even miss know it all.

I wanted to wish you and your family a very Happy Easter.

Hugs! Nancy

LOL...Wait, let me run and get the tweezers! Donna, you always make me laugh! And yep, I hear on being one of those girls. But mines a mustache, not a uni-brow...LOL

Love the dolls. I know exactly what you're saying. Sometimes I feel like my life is an endless series of tasks... work tasks... housecleaning tasks... laundry... etc. It's like I go "ok, that's done, now what's next."

I love your dollies, and yes, I've surely lost my head! I hope to meet you in person in a couple of weeks. Pull yourself together so I can give you a big hug! Christy

"OH My Sweet Donna,

Don't be overwhelmed...(easy to say, I am very frazzled these days too.) Our home is on the Market, the kids are out of school, Keeping up with the house work, and so much more....I know how you feel. So sit down take a deep breath, enjoy the sunlight on your face with a Mocha or Tea. And just relax...(if you can.) "Oh Yeah, I forgot...don't forget some chocolate too.....lol!!"

*"Love your little doll heads, where do you find those??"

Yep, I'm there alright... rolling around with you...

LMAO!!!! i had just stopped scrolling and was thinking to myself "what is UP with those eyebrows" and then you said the unibrow thing!!!

flutterby girls

Donna-How fitting i came to your blog today, having a little pitty party for myself and getting ready to put out the balloons..sometimes we feel so alone in our minds that never shut off, and wonder how other 'dolls' survive by never turning on.
Thanks to you for sharing and the pics of the dolls are perfect..well said.

Flea Market Queen

I couldn't have said it any better!
I am so very overwhelmed right now & feeling so bad about not blogging lately! I am so glad I stopped by today...

The Musings of an English Lass

Gosh, what a lovely collection of doll heads!

Well I must say, it sure is comforting to know that I'm not alone when it comes to loosing ones marbles due to stress.

I can completely relate to how your feeling at present Donna. It is overwhelming at times whilst your trying to juggle everything. Hopefully you'll be able to take a little time for yourself to unwind & relax.

Take care,

yes, yes, yes...

i saw myself up there.
tilted over
from trying to do it all
but that is OK.

we can *TRY* to do it all
we don't have to actually
~~DO it ALL~~
half the fun is in trying,
isn't it?

[[i'm the one looking up
at the sky
dreaming about doing even MORE.

i know...
what can i say?]]

Ah, Yes, I do recognize the feeling!
But I think you are doing a MARVELOUS job of it!
Funny, you really ARE doing it ALL and don't even know it!! I do so appreciate your Divine taste in all things lovely and beautiful!
And can you see me jumping up and down?! Well, I am, I am! Thank you, Dear Donna I LOVE them all, each and every one of them!

Oh boy oh boy....

What a great shopper YOU are!!

Love all of these heads. I will never be the perfect one. There is always a crack there somewhere.

Excuse me, put perchance was one of those lost heads my own? I do believe I have lost it somewhere! xoxo N

Boxwood Cottage

What a fabulous collection of doll heads! I'm in awe and I want them all lol

Martha, Vintage Trifles

It's good to know that someone else feels the same way I do. Even someone that appears to be so "together". I just have to remember to breath occasionally and take one thing at a time. I also remember what my grandmother said when she was in her mid-nineties: "A hundred years from now, no one will care." I guess she knew, first hand! M.

Haha! For sure I'd rather not even HAVE a head if there was a unibrow involved...so funny...

I actually asked the question on how do you do it...work, family and art?
I have felt much like you for the last few weeks...visiting blogs and making art is what gives me the little sanity that I have. At the same time I would not change a thing, my family is important and when they need me I am there.

I wonder if any of us would want to change a thing and have it all together...where is the fun in that?

Yes, our noggins are a spinnin these days.
You don't worry Donna O. You is in good company missus. Yup.
I am crazy too!!!

Auberne' Fox-Hughes

Cool collection! Thank you for the nice comment on my blog. ^-^

Wow Donna,
Quite a collection!!
I hear you, I try to do it all, and sometimes it works, and sometimes not.
Thanks for visiting me, and for the complements on my wands.
I made a crown too, but I haven't put it on my blog yet.
Have a nice Sunday,

Well, if that is your head rolling amongst the others, it's good to know you aren't alone. Add me to the list of others who's losing her head right along with you. At least now I know where it is!

A Fanciful Twist

I feel it I feel it toooo!!! Oh my all those heads!! hahaaaaa!! Love em!! Impossible to do it all.. I know, isn't it maddening??? xoxooxo

It´s because we are created this way! (women I mean!) We just can´t think of just one thing at the time (as the opposite sex does...and the one thing they´re thinking of is probably the opposite s..!)

You´re welcome to breakfast in my home anytime! :0D DS

yep, I'm sure that one of your friends there is moi. Probably the one with the top of her head missing (of which there are several, you just can't see it in the picture!)
You go ahead and be the pretty one. Just make sure to take time out to nurture and take care of yourself.
xo Lidy

Oh, Donna...what an amazing collection...I'm drooling! The unibrow, not so much!
I'm glad I could take you back to your childhood with the polka dot boxes. I really love painting boxes...don't know what need I am fulfilling...but it's fun.
I guess we just need to take each day as it comes...we only have one day at a time. I know, easier said than done. I did the juggling act years ago...when you look back on those years a few yrs from now, you'll wonder how you figured it all out, but you will rejoice in all that you accomplished! And now, Donna...I have a peace about who I am and what I am doing. You will too!

Christine LeFever

What a wonderful collection of dolly heads. Of course those old unibrows are rather illustrious in spite of their ignorance of tweezers. Doing it all means leaving the vacuum cleaner out for days on end, unless you are one of those who affords a helper from time to time. And that I am not! Thank you for reminding me that we're all in this fun boat together!

'All together' with unibrows? And did I see some little tell tale wrinkles on her too??? No competition for you my dear, her crown wouldn't stay on straight...

Say, how about we quit playing phone-tag and set up a playdate????

Nina Mason

You don't know me, but your work is very inspiring! So I'm presenting you with the "You Make My Day" award. To collect your award, go to my blog at http://ninamasondolls.blogspot.com.

Raised In Cotton

OK Ms Donna, were you writing that post just for me? How did you KNOW I too am trying to burn the creative candle at both ends? Tweezers pleez, I need my tweezers, a girls best friend:)

Keep on goin girl!

Love the doll heads...right now it's my thing too! I have been making jewelry with the tiny heads and just going nuts cutting figurine heads from their dressed bodies along with tiny bisque baby dolls...my family says I am in a "creepy" phase but oh no, they are such cute little heads. Now who wants a doll sitting on the shelf when you can wear one around your neck? Cant wait to see what wonderful thing you are going to do with them...great to have a fellow "creepy" creator...LOL
Stay strong, after all isnt being overwhelmed part of a woman's job description?
Love your site, makes my stress easier to handle by looking at your pretties!

pinkie denise

Oh, Donna I can relate...life is so
hectic sometimes, your in good company it looks like, that where I would want to be, taking time off to
play dolls how wonderful! I love the story of the Velveteen Rabbit, well loved and well worn and played with... thats what counts Pinkie Denise

Remember not to lose your head!
As a fellow antiquer and independent business owner, I understand your feelings of being overwhelmed. Be sure to take a day off for yourself... Also, even though I love your blog, if you have to take some time away from it, I know all of your readers would understand...
Thanks for sharing with us...
Blessings to you and yours.

I see myself...there among the others. I'm so glad to see that there are so many of us feeling as if we are about to lose our heads. ...or is that minds!

I can see why you went on a buying frenzie...I love the assortment of lost heads.

le petit cabinet de curiosites

YOUR COLLECTION IS FANTASTIC !!!I have the same feeling ! ALL is great !
Let's say " LUCKY US "

Dear Donna,
All your dolls are beautiful. The age and cracks are what make them what they are special, to include the girl with the unibrow.

Have a great weekend!

A unibrow? LOL! We surely don't want that!

Donna, I have been feeling very much the same lately ~ too much to do and not enough time to do it all.

Have a stress-free weekend!

Miss Maddie's

Judging by her shoulderplate Miss Perfection has gone to pieces on at least one occasion too!
Health and home come first. As long as you can maintain your sense of humor you can keep it together!A little post now and again helps us enjoy some sanity also.
PS I didn't know you were a headhunter as well!
