Tinsel And Treasures, ('a Fanciful Folk Art Show') is coming up on Saturday, September 13th in Danville, CA - so you can guess what I've been doing.

And no- I'm not embellishing a matching tuxedo.

Unless I hear from Sir Elton.

 

~ WHERE'S WALDO? ~

I love metal. And heraldry and royalty. I stumbled upon these gorgeous antique cap badges a few years ago and began collecting them.

Most of the ones I have are from the UK.

And some I don't really know anything about their origin at all.

The mixing of different colors of the metal is so beautiful.

Hard to believe these were worn on military caps- they're just so artistically crafted.

I took a few from my collection and hung them from ribbons and then on a set of cannisters in my kitchen.

Love this one.

So...I named this post, "Where's Waldo?". If you scroll back through the photos can you find the 'Waldo' in my collection- meaning, spot the one that is blending in and isn't a real  cap badge?

Is it not amazing???? Doesn't it have the same feel as the other ones?

When I saw what Constance of Rochambeau was making I just about flipped!! Check out all of the other things I ordered from her.

Everything comes so beautifully wrapped. I'm not surprised as everything Constance does is first class. She encloses a little scroll with all of the symbols and their corresponding meanings. Constance, thank you so much- I love them all. This link will take you to the original post at Rochambeau where you can see more of her selections.

I think I bought enough to start my own Constance collection to go with my cap badges collection! My excuse is that I have three sisters so I'm going to share....maybe.

~ ! From Head to Toe ! ~

Yep, from 'head to toe', American Harvest's Theatre Mystique Halloween Premier was fantastic!! But I have to say I wasn't able to snap any photos in the store because it was brimming with customers (which is a good thing!!) I'm sure Sharon will post photos on her blog tonight or tomorrow of all the amazing displays and creations.

At the store, I met up with my wonderful friend, Colleen Moody, whose dolls are now at American Harvest. I love the face of this one.  

Both of these dolls were gone before I even had a chance to see them in person (images borrowed from Colleen's blog).

  

My favorite purchase!! Little Witches Slippers created by Karen Otto of A'Musments

All of these were gone within the first hour (I could have sold mine a few times while standing in line) but more will be flying their way to the store, I hear. I love these, Karen!!

Update* Witches Slippers are on the way as of today August 21st!!

So, a standing ovation to American Harvest for once again bringing us amazing artists' creations together in such a terrific venue! You did an incredible job!!
