Dear Donna
Interesting that I came upon your post today.
My father also served in WW11. He lost both his legs. I love your post and would be honored to have you come and see my special tribute to my wonderful dad.

Wow........I can't think of a better way to bring the true meaning of Veteran's Day to life, and light. Your tribute to your father speaks volumes about you too. I am sure somewhere........ your father is proud to have had a daughter like you! Thanks for sharing such a personal memory. My father has passed too, and he was also in the military. Such a different time from then until now. How wonderful that you remembered when so many seem to forget.

I have tears in my eyes. What a lovely person to have for a Father. They say that the greatest thing a Father can do for his children is to love their Mother. Your Father's devotion to your Mother has touched my heart. Big Hugs to you and comfort as you remember him this day.

Dear Donna,
Thank you for a special post in honor of our veterans. We have 2 vets still living in my family (sadly my dad passed in 2000).
Yesterday they were honored at an elementary school assembly with songs, pledging to our flag, and handmade THANK YOU cards. They were very touched.

Erik Wahlberg

He was and is the best man I ever knew. I am so blessed to have had him as my Grandfather for almost 40 years. He was the best man at my wedding and my wife, Leah, loved and loves him DEARLY. His whole family loves him dearly!

Grandpa, I miss you SO much and look forward to seeing you again someday. I love you!!! WE love you!

Bethany

Oh how sentimental...how sweet to have that very pen esp. with the old photos! Very touching esp. the photo of your mom and dad.
Yes, every veteran deserves a tip of our hat and a thank you (even with a hug!) for what they have given for our gift (not entitlement) of freedom!!!!!!

Mo'a

That generation was a special breed.... my Dad too, could have fit into his uniform at 80+ ... and probably still have handled his rifle with dexterity.....
